The Veranda


The Veranda restaurant at Grand Tradition is one of the most desired restaurants in all of North County. The Veranda offers fresh cuisine served with breathtaking views of Grand Tradition’s lake and gardens from the comfort of outdoor patio dining.  Reservations are highly recommended.


During the San Diego County mandated modified service guidelines we will be open Thursday through Sunday from 9am to 2pm.  We will be serving a modified menu including both brunch and lunch menu items.  Please click below to see our current menu.

Estate Picnic Boxes are a great way to capture the flavor of The Veranda and the beauty of the gardens all in one quick easy option. Your boxed lunch will include your choice of a variety of sandwich options, chips, cookie and bottled water. All the accompaniments are included so that your lunch on the go is effortless. With your included day pass you are free to roam the gardens and enjoy your lunch wherever you like. Bring a blanket and make it a cozy picnic!



Grand Tradition Picnic Baskets are deliciously indulgent, offering a one-of-a-kind memorable experience in the gardens. Each basket includes the use of a soft picnic blanket and garden admission, along with an extensive selection of personalized menu choices. A great way to enjoy a some space in the gardens, each other, and a delicious lunch.

Group Dining

Parties of 11-15 guests


  • Each table seats a maximum of five.
  • Group dining requires the use of multiple tables.
  • Tables will be set adjacent to each other but not connected.
  • The Veranda tables are dressed in white linens, green napkins, and The Veranda’s cacti and succulent centerpieces.

Food Service

  • The Veranda’s Executive Chef prepares food to order.
  • To ensure quality and freshness each table will be served in a staggered service style within a reasonable amount of time.
  • A cake cutting and service charge will apply to any bakery dessert brought in.

Brunch or Lunch Menu Options

  • Limited menus are required for groups or large parties.
  • Limited menus consist of your selection of 2 Appetizers, 2 Entrée Salads and 3 Sandwiches from The Veranda’s Brunch or Lunch Menu.
  • A special limited menu will be printed and available for everyone in the dining party.

Payment and Requirements

  • Large parties require a $20 food and beverage minimum per person excluding sales tax and gratuity.
  • A customized estimate will be created to ensure all associated costs are presented before a reservation is made. Reservations may only be made during normal, operating restaurant hours and are subject to availability.
  • Reservations will require a credit card to hold, signed contract and signed estimate. Reservations cancelled or modified within 48 hours are subject to a $10 per person cancellation fee.
  • Split checks may be honored on a limited basis of one check per table.
  • Individual checks among the dining party will not be accommodated.
